Starting Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Job Description
The Overnight Maintenance Worker schedule is 11:30 pm to 7:30 am shift, supporting the Engineering team in maintaining the overall appearance and internal workings of the Hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Attend maintenance calls to guest rooms and public spaces.
· Interact and communicate with hotel guests respectfully and pleasantly.
· Complete nightly hotel rounds which may include: firepit checks, monitoring for equipment alarms, replacing burnt out lightbulbs, checking door operations, window checks, vehicle checks, etc.
· Completing general maintenance and repair work in all areas of the Hotel including kitchens, restaurants and lounges, spa and fitness area, public washrooms, and back of house areas
· Performing assigned special maintenance projects such as painting, shop organization, hanging pictures, installing seasonal decorations, ice rink maintenance, guest room maintenance, toilet replacement, working with overnight contractors, etc.
· Perform swimming pool and whirlpool maintenance; includes cleaning of pool surfaces, backwashing, and filling of the pools, and maintaining proper pool water chemistry though routine water checks and addition of pool chemicals.
· Assisting with maintaining the physical appearance of the Hotel grounds including collecting garbage, sanding and salting of slippery walkways, chipping ice, plowing and shoveling snow, watering grass, etc.
· Common duties include replacing lightbulbs, minor plumbing repairs, painting, garbage and recycling removal, assisting with other maintenance tasks as assigned.
· Record work completed on work orders and complete end of shift information pass on to oncoming workers.
· Perform fire watch as needed; participate in hotel emergency response policy.
Qualifications
· Can demonstrate mechanical aptitude from past work experience.
· Hotel maintenance experience preferred.
· Familiar with simple plumbing
· Available to work an 11:30 pm to 7:30 am shift.
· Able to meet the physical demands of the position.
· Keen attention to detail
· Reliable and self-motivated
· Able to work independently and to problem-solve responsibly.
· Able to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with co workers and hotel guests; ability to communicate by radio, ability to read and write English.
· Able to be insured to operate motor vehicle.
· Basic computer skills
