Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Golf, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

·  General grounds maintenance of the golf course and hotel grounds including weeding, edging, raking, trimming, pruning, sweeping related processes.
·  Golf course servicing including tee marker moving, cup placement, ball washer maintenance, trash bin maintenance and operations relating to maintaining a quality aesthetic appearance to the golf course.
·  Maintenance of bunkers, including edging, raking and restocking of sand.
·  Loading and unloading of vehicles required for normal maintenance operations for the golf course and hotel grounds.
·  Chipping operations and debris disposal.
·  Regular maintenance and minor equipment repair.
·  Carry out all forms of mowing, including rotary and reel mowers, string trimmers and attachments.
·  Use of aerifiers, verticutters, spikers and related equipment required in the routine cultural practices on golf courses.
·  Topdressing practices by hand and/or machine.
·  Seeding and fertilizing tees, greens and hotel grounds with rotary and/or drop spreaders.
·  Sod cutting and sod laying operations.
·  Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
·  Following department policies, procedures and service standards as well as health and safety policies
·  Maintain the workplace in a clean and sanitary condition.
·  Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

·  Certification in horticulture or landscaping preferred
·  2 years groundskeeping experience preferred
·  Knowledge of plant life, local pests and how to eliminate them
·  A love of the outdoors and plant life
·  A valid driver's license and experience with operating commercial mowers preferred
·  Exceptional communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork, observation and problem solving skills, including a strong attention to detail
·  Must be alert, accountable, reliable and flexible
·  Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast paced multi-cultural environment
·  Must be reliable with the ability to work independently and with a team
·  Able to perform routine tasks without supervision
·  Able to work early mornings (6am), weekends and holidays

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):     

·  Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stretching
·  Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs

Able to tolerate prolonged exposure to prevailing weather conditions
