Job Description
· Ensure that driveway is free from any obstruction
· Welcomes every guest entering the hotel (Arrivals & non-in house)
· Ensures that guests are greeted at the car within 30 seconds of the vehicles pulling onto the driveway
· Remains observant and responds to each guest who passes through the front entrances of the hotel
· Ensures that other guests are acknowledged while engaged with other guests
· Ensures that guests leaving the hotel are attended to and offered assistance
· Opens car doors and extends a warm and pleasant greeting to guests
· Maintains eye contact with guests at all time. (Observe 5X10 foot rule)
· Follow all applicable Occupational Health and Safety regulations
· Attempt to open all doors for incoming and outgoing guests
· Gives clear directions for guest to retrieve car when issuing valet ticket if the car is to be valet parked
· Report suspicious people or behavior to security personnel
· Ensure that the driveway is not congested
· Be aware of the circumstances surrounding each vehicle on the driveway
· Share important information relating to the driveway with all members of the team
· Ensure that all guests are assisted quickly and efficiently
· Greet all guests courteously, using the guest’s name whenever possible
· Possess a sound understanding of all department operations
· Arrange taxi transport for all guests who require it
· Ensure that the hotel holds keys for each vehicle parked on the driveway
· Maintain a perpetual presence on the driveway throughout the hours of the shift
· Be assertive, yet polite to guests wanting to park on the driveway
· Be an ambassador for the hotel by providing an excellent first impression of the hotel to the guest
· Be willing to share ideas with the Bell Captains of how to improve our service to our guests
· Attend shift briefing at start of shift in order to keep up-to-date with happenings in the hotel
· Follow all procedures as outlined in the Fairmont Code of Ethics booklet
· Work closely with the Bell Persons, providing accurate information with regards to guests’ room numbers
· Assist the Housekeeping department by maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel driveway
· Perform other duties as requested by management
Qualifications
· Passion for Guest Service
· Previous experience in the position is an asset, although not a prerequisite
· Should possess the ability to work fast and efficiently under pressure
· Should have a strong personality in order to be assertive when controlling traffic on the driveway
· Must have the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
· Should be physically fit in order to lift and move luggage
· Should have a good knowledge of the hotel and Abu dhabi, as well as current events
· Good English skills essential (verbal and written).
· Must be flexible in terms of working hours
· Should be guest-orientated
