Job Description
We are seeking a strategic Director of Procurement to manage and optimize the procurement activities for a set of four hotels within the same resort complex. This role focuses on developing streamlined purchasing processes, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of goods and services across all properties.
Key Responsibilities:
· Centralized Procurement Strategy : Oversee and standardize procurement operations across the four hotels, ensuring uniform quality and pricing.
· Vendor Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable contracts that meet the specific needs of the complex.
· Cost Optimization : Monitor budgets and spending to achieve cost savings while maintaining high standards of service and product quality.
· Sustainability and Compliance : Ensure procurement policies align with sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
· Inventory Control : Implement efficient inventory management systems to minimize waste and maintain optimal stock levels.
· Collaboration : Work closely with hotel management teams to anticipate operational needs and deliver timely procurement solutions.
Qualifications
Requirements:
· Proven experience in procurement, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry.
· Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to manage procurement for multiple entities within a single location.
· Expertise in cost control, vendor relations, and contract management.
· Challenges the status quo: Has the courage to take an unpopular stance.
· Strategic & Organizationally Aware: Clearly understands all upstream and downstream implications of his/her work.
· Fluent in English.
· Demonstrating strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
· Knowledge of the Avendra system is a plus.
Additional Information
Additional Preferences:
· MBA
· Retail, Hospitality, Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) or Consulting industry experience
· PMP (Project Management Professional) or SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designations
·
VISA REQUIREMENTS: Must already be legally entitled to work in Mexico to be considered for the position.
