Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commis III to join our culinary team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a Commis III, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, contributing to the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes that meet our exacting standards.
· Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes and quality standards
· Work efficiently in designated stations as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
· Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout service
· Properly portion, prepare, and store ingredients to minimize waste and ensure food safety
· Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food production
· Assist in the plating and presentation of dishes to meet specifications
· Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
· Support inventory management by participating in stock rotations and counts
· Contribute to a positive kitchen environment through teamwork and communication
· Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; culinary diploma preferred
· 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or full-service hotel
· Proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods
· Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
· Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems
· Excellent time management and organizational skills
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
· Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
· Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
· Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
· Passion for culinary arts and continuous learning
