Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis II to join our culinary team. As a Commis II, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations, assisting in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. This position offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring chefs to gain hands-on experience and develop their culinary skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.
· Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various dishes
· Execute basic cooking techniques under the supervision of senior chefs
· Follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in food quality
· Support the creation of dishes by performing assigned tasks
· Maintain a clean and organized work station
· Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
· Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
· Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
· Participate in kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks
· Contribute to menu development and improvement initiatives
· Adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently during peak hours
· Support senior chefs in special culinary projects or events
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a culinary program or certificate is preferred
· Basic knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment
· Previous experience in a professional kitchen is advantageous; entry-level positions or internships are acceptable
· Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking techniques
· Ability to follow recipes accurately and attention to detail
· Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
· Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks
· Excellent teamwork and communication skills
· Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively
· Passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn and grow in the field
· Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules
· Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality cuisine
· Customer-focused approach to food preparation and presentation
· Basic math skills for recipe conversions and inventory management
