Job Description

Commis II – Banquet assists in the preparation and presentation of food for banquet events. As a Commis II, the primary goal is to support the culinary team in delivering high-quality dishes and ensuring guest satisfaction. This role involves following established recipes and portion sizes, executing cooking techniques under the guidance of senior chefs, and contributing to the overall organization and cleanliness of the kitchen. By working closely with the team, maintaining food safety standards, and continuously learning and developing culinary skills, the Commis II - Banquet plays a vital role in creating memorable dining experiences for guests attending banquet events in the hotel. 

Qualifications

·  Culinary Educatio n: A formal culinary education from a recognized institution or culinary school is preferred. This provides a foundation in culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen safety.
·  Experience : Previous experience working in a professional kitchen, preferably in a banquet or catering setting, is required.
·  Basic Culinary Skills : Commis II - Banquet should have a strong foundation in basic culinary skills, including knife handling, food preparation, cooking techniques, and an understanding of various cuisines. This includes knowledge of banquet-style cooking and presentation. 
·  Attention to Detai l: Attention to detail is crucial in maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation. Commis II - Banquet must have an eye for detail, ensuring that dishes are properly garnished, plated attractively, and meet the hotel's quality standards. 
·  Adaptability and Flexibility : Banquet operations can be dynamic, with changing menus, guest requests, and tight schedules. Commis II - Banquet must be adaptable and flexible in their approach, being able to adjust to different requirements and work effectively as part of a team. 
·  Communication Skills : Effective communication skills are essential in a kitchen environment. Commis II - Banquet should be able to take instructions from senior chefs, communicate with other kitchen staff, and work cohesively in a fast-paced environment. 
·  Hygiene and Safety Knowledge : Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is essential. Commis II - Banquet must adhere to hygiene standards, including proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
