Job Description
Position Overview:
Raffles & Fairmont Doha is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commis 2 to join our esteemed culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to build a career in the culinary arts and gain valuable experience in a world-class hotel.
Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation:
· Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
· Follow recipes and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes.
· Perform basic cooking tasks such as chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients.

Cooking:
· Cook and plate dishes according to the standards set by the Head Chef.
· Ensure that food is cooked and presented in an appealing and timely manner.
· Maintain knowledge of all menu items and seasonal offerings.

Kitchen Operations:
· Maintain a clean and organized work station.
· Assist in the daily cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and facilities.
· Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety and hygiene standards.

Team Collaboration:
· Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
· Communicate effectively with senior chefs and other team members.
· Assist in the training of new kitchen staff as needed.

Inventory and Stock Management:
· Assist in monitoring and managing food stock levels.
· Report any shortages or quality issues to senior chefs.
· Assist in the proper storage and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
· Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety standards.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs.
· Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
