Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Commis 1 to join our culinary team at our restaurant in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Junior Chef, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, contributing to our restaurant's reputation for excellence.

·  Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and seasoning
·  Support senior chefs in cooking and plating dishes according to restaurant standards
·  Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
·  Assist in menu planning and development, offering creative input when appropriate
·  Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
·  Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations
·  Participate in inventory management and stock rotation
·  Adapt to the fast-paced environment of a professional kitchen
·  Continuously learn and improve culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs

Qualifications

·  Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification
·  Food safety certification
·  1-2 years of kitchen experience (preferred)
·  Proficiency in basic culinary techniques and food preparation methods
·  Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
·  Ability to work effectively in a team environment
·  Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
·  Physical stamina to work long hours in a standing position
·  Ability to work in a tropical climate
·  Knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine (preferred)
·  Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Vietnamese is a plus
·  Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
·  Passion for cooking and willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field
