Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and professional Captain Waiter/ess to join our esteemed restaurant team in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Captain Waiter/ess, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our guests whilst leading and mentoring our service team.
· Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the restaurant's dining area
· Lead, train, and motivate the waiting staff to maintain high service standards
· Greet and seat guests, ensuring a warm and professional welcome
· Manage reservations and handle special requests or dietary requirements
· Provide detailed menu information, including daily specials and wine recommendations
· Resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally
· Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
· Assist in inventory management and stock control
· Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow
· Maintain a clean and organised dining area at all times
Qualifications
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fine dining or luxury hospitality
· Previous experience in a supervisory role within food service
· Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on guest satisfaction
· Demonstrated leadership abilities and team management skills
· Proficiency in restaurant management software
· Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively
· High school diploma or equivalent (required)
· Hospitality management degree or relevant certification (preferred)
· Valid food safety certification
· In-depth knowledge of food and beverage pairing
· Thorough understanding of fine dining etiquette and service standards
· Familiarity with Vietnamese cuisine and culture (preferred)
· Willingness to work in Phu Quoc, Vietnam
