Job Description
· Creating and developing new recipes for various baked goods, including seasonal items, and ensuring consistency in recipe execution.
· Preparing a wide range of baked goods, such as cakes, cookies, pies, breads, and other pastries, using both traditional and modern techniques.
· Monitoring inventory levels of baking ingredients, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients.
· Ensuring the quality and consistency of all baked goods, including taste, texture, and appearance.
· Maintaining a clean and organized baking area, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations, and ensuring proper hygiene practices.
· Supervising and training junior baking staff, providing guidance and support in baking techniques and procedures.
· Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop and update menus, considering customer preferences and seasonal availability.
· Ensuring all baking equipment is properly maintained and functioning correctly.
· Keeping up-to-date with the latest food trends, baking techniques, and industry best practices.
· Ability to create visually appealing desserts and pastries, including decorating cakes and other baked goods.
Qualifications
· 2-5 years of experience in a pastry chef or baker role, with a strong understanding of baking techniques.
· Meticulous attention to detail in measurements, mixing, and presentation.
· A thorough understanding of food safety.
· Excellent time management skills to manage baking schedules and production timelines.
· Strong communication skills to collaborate with the kitchen team and supervise staff.
