Job Description

Position Purpose :

An access control operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling access to a specific area, facility, or system. This role involves utilizing various security technologies and protocols to ensure that only authorized individuals are granted entry, while also maintaining records of access and responding to security incidents as needed.

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

·  High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certification may be preferred.
·   Proven experience in access control, security, or a related field.
·   Familiarity with access control systems and security technologies, including key card readers, biometric scanners, and CCTV surveillance.
·  Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately maintain records and logs.
·  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of individuals.
·  Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and respond effectively to security incidents.
·  Understanding of security protocols and knowledge of emergency response procedures.
·  Proficiency in using computerized systems and software for data entry and monitoring

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

EXPERIENCE:

Basic experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical’s certification is required and/or First Aid Training preferred.
