The thesis work is a part of the collaboration project Trust_Gen_Z:Trustworthy Generative AI for Advanced Industrial DigitaliZation between Volvo CE and Mälardalen University.

 

Title: Human-AI Interaction Based on Computer Vision and Data Analytics for Excavator Maintenance

Description of Thesis Work
 
Be a part of shaping the future through Analytics and AI explorations, both working on a specific use case and investigating the latest trends in approaches and Ways of Working.

The thesis will focus on human-AI interaction that builds on an existing computer vision-based model and detects wear for undercarriage parts for the excavator using machine learning. You will be evaluating the approach in real industrial settings.

 

The tasks of the thesis include:

·  Identify Human AI interaction (HAI) techniques
·  Implementation of machine learning life cycle considering HAI
·  Evaluate the system in a real industrial environment/platform  

 

This can be suitable for the student with studies within for example Industrial Engineering and Management / Automotive Engineering/ Computer Science/ AI /Software Engineering or equivalent. HAI, Computer vision, AI and machine learning are valuable skill sets. Some programming skills in Python are essential.
