Are you a student seeking an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of supply chain management? We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented student to support our efforts in exploring how automation, specifically through the application of RPA and AI technologies, can transform inbound logistics planning.

The wheel loader produced in Arvika consists of more than 5,000 part numbers, which to some extent are handled manually by the department of Inbound Logistics. The work is time consuming and requires a lot of attention from every material controller at the department. We believe that in the future, some of these processes will be run automatically, enabling time for material controllers to focus more on strategic work towards suppliers.

Thesis Focus: The aim of this thesis is to develop an automated system with RPA and/or AI and evaluate how automation can enhance operational efficiency in inbound logistics. The project will focus on streamlining repetitive, control-intensive tasks typically managed by material controllers. Additionally, the study will assess how automation enables material controllers to transition into more dynamic roles that emphasize strategic supplier relationship management, ultimately contributing to greater value creation within the supply chain.

Key Objectives:

·
Evaluate current inbound logistics processes and identify areas suitable for automation

·
Ensure that automated processes maintain the high standards of supply reliability

·
Design an automated process and evaluate its potential within the department Inbound logistics using RPA and/or AI

·
Assess how AI technologies can complement RPA in automating inbound logistics processes, with a focus on improving the decision-making and enhancing the efficiency of material handling

Who we’re looking for:

·
Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

·
Strong interest in automation, AI, and RPA technologies

·
Passion for developing human-centric and user friendly solutions

What We Offer:

·
Gain practical insights into real-world obstacles in Inbound Logistics

·
Receive guidance from industry professionals to support your research

·
