About Us - Service Market Logistics

Service Market Logistics is part of Group Trucks Operations being globally active in more than 40 locations delivering world-class operational excellence for our customers, based on smart logistics solutions we have. Our job is to develop, manage and optimise the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands.

The Position - Shipping Executive (6 months contract)

We are looking for a detailed-oriented and proactive Shipping Executive to join our team at Singapore Distribution Center. Your role will involve a wide span of activities from export documentation, timely booking of export containers, co-ordinating of inbound arrivals and all other related shipping operational activities. This role will be reporting to the Order & Shipping Manager, and be part of the SML DC Singapore, Order & Shipping team. 

Main Activities & Responsibilities

Shipping Coordination and Documentation

·  Coordinate and execute all export shipment related activities from DC Singapore warehouse to the complete dealer network including supplier returns
·  Prepare all related export documentation including dealer invoicing, delivery orders, Certificate of Origins, etc.
·  Ensuring that all DC goods are processed for export properly i.e. coordinate DG packing and export declarations
·  Membership renewal of Volvo Singapore with Singapore Chamber of Commerce
·  Coordinate closely with the internal teams including relevant Business Areas and warehouse operations to track all order lines are processed shipped out in time.
·  Working closely with Service Centre and Operations team in cases of urgent or special delivery requests from dealers. 

 

Coordination with 3PL/Freight Forwarders

·  Closely work with the relevant 3PLs to ensure that the shipments and transported in time
·  Ensure that all export documents are archived properly
·  First line of resolve for all day-to-day shipping issues (including basic related systems issues)

 

Support Business Objectives & Continuous Improvements

·  Responsible for performance measurements within your area, e.g. updating and analysing reasons and actions when gaps are found
·  Continuously improve the way of working within your individual role as well as together with the Order & Shipping team.
·  Whenever required, act as a backup and support towards the team including performing cross-functional activities
·  Engage actively in cross-departmental projects and initiatives to ensure Volvo Group's success as a whole

Critical Competencies

·  Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or having relevant working experience
·  3 years of experience within a shipping role, preferably in a warehouse operation setting
·  High level of responsibility, ability to work independently and escalate issues effectively
·  Good in Microsoft Excel
·  Good communication skills
·  Excellent team player with a growth mindset
·  Comfortable with problem solving tools and thinking
