Senior Certification and Compliance Engineer

Profile and competence:  

·  10+ (preferred) / 5+(acceptable) years of experience from the automotive industry within certification, emission legislation and/or powertrain development.
·  Bachelor of Master of Science degree in engineering
·  Knowledge in On-board diagnostics, software development and calibration is a merit.

Tasks:

·  Carry out Certifications for the Indian market, planning, booking, documentation, application.
·  Support authorities COP activities (SW/dst, cable harness, lensbox etc.)
·  Ensure that data is processed and accurate for submission to relevant authorities
·  ISC
·  IUPR
·  CVN/CalID
·  (COP)
·  Manage / approve changes to existing product offerings associated with emissions related components, systems, software, and calibrations.
·  Lead activities to ensure that obligations required to maintain emissions compliance are provided accurately and on time.
·  Develop creative methods (along with supporting engineers) to monitor and ensure emissions compliance and communicate results and corrective actions.
·  Ensure that all processes necessary for maintaining legal emissions compliance are properly documented and maintained.
·  Participate in PIL (specially CPI) investigations and contribute to a compliant solution.

Knowledge and Competence

·  Knowledge regarding Indian Emissions Regulations - Limits, regulations, test cycles, measurement of exhaust emissions and calculation of fuel consumption
·  Understanding of AIS-137 regulation with regards to facility, equipment, and testing procedures.
·  Knowledge regarding On-board diagnostics (OBD)
·  Ability to review and analyse performance data.
·  Expertise with diesel emissions measurement from both engine dynamometer and chassis dynamometer testing.
·  Understanding of the impact of engine design and calibration on the generation of CO2.
·  Understanding of the vehicle level design features and the impact they have on CO2 generation

Thorough understanding of diesel combustion and after-treatment systems. This includes Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC).

Focus will be on the topics related to the Indian market and Indian regulations, but other markets and regulations can also become relevant.
