New Volvo

Head of Cyber Threat Intelligence

  • Göteborg, SWEDEN

Job description

Intelligence-led defense. Collaboration that anticipates threats. Security built on foresight.

Welcome to Volvo Group Enterprise IT Security, where you will join the Active Cyber Defense (ACD) organization as Head of Cyber Threat Intelligence Center (CTIC).

Our mission is simple yet powerful. We deliver intelligence that drives protection, detection, and resilience. CTIC provides the insights that help Volvo Group anticipate and prevent cyber threats before they can impact our operations.

We serve as the intelligence backbone for EITS, working closely with the Cyber Defense Center (CDC), and other internal EITS teams to ensure our defense actions are intelligence-driven and grounded in real-world data.

What you will do

As Head of CTIC, you will lead the EITS Cyber Threat Intelligence Centre - shaping how intelligence informs decisions from the security operations floor to executive leadership discussions.

You will be accountable for two key intelligence domains:

Operational Intelligence

·  Focused on enabling Active Defense in partnership with the Cyber Defense Center (CDC).
·  Deliver actionable intelligence to enhance detection, threat hunting, and incident response.
·  Correlate external threat data with Volvo telemetry to identify exposure and adversary intent.
·  Drive intelligence collaboration across Volvo Group and external partners (industry ISACs).

Strategic Intelligence

·  Focused on enabling decision advantage for leadership and risk owners.
·  Produce forward-looking threat landscape assessments and campaign analysis.
·  Assess geopolitical, sectoral, and technology trends that could influence Volvo Group operations and supply chain.
·  Support exposure management, risk assessments, and resilience planning with intelligence-derived insights.
·  Present threat briefings and reports to senior executives, councils, and leadership forums.
·  Beyond these, you will ensure CTIC acts as a connector and force multiplier, driving collaboration across all ACD pillars and key partners.

Collaboration at the core

You will work closely with:

·  Cyber Defense Center (CDC) to operationalize threat intelligence and support Detection & Response.
·  CTPM to ensure threat-driven prioritization of controls and exposure reduction.
·  OT Security to build the right level of defences to secure the OT environment by providing actionable intelligence.
·  Informing Truck Divisions and Business Area’s on relevant cyber threats with actionable intelligence.
·  External partners and intelligence communities to strengthen our situational awareness and defense posture.

Your future team

At CTIC, you will lead a diverse team of operational and strategic intelligence analysts. Together, you will turn complex signals into clarity. The team thrives on curiosity, analytical precision, and collaboration. We believe in learning from reality, not just from rules.

You will report to the Vice President & Head of Active Cyber Defense, and your function will directly influence Volvo Group’s proactive defense strategies.

Who are you?

You combine strategic foresight with operational depth. You can translate intelligence into action, help analysts connect the dots, and help executives see the bigger picture. You are at ease working between command-level strategy and SOC-level reality.

Hard skills

·  Proven experience building or leading a cyber threat intelligence capability in a global enterprise or government environment.
·  Deep understanding of the intelligence lifecycle, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and structured analytic techniques.
·  Strong analytical ability to assess nation-state and criminal threat actor behavior.
·  Practical experience correlating intelligence with SOC detections, vulnerability, and exposure management data.
·  Proficiency in producing both tactical (IOCs, SIGMA/KQL rules) and strategic (trend, campaign, geopolitical) reports.
·  Familiarity with Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIPs), enrichment tools, and automation workflows.
·  Ability to communicate intelligence outcomes effectively to both technical and executive audiences.

Soft skills

·  Strong leadership with a collaborative mindset and proven ability to inspire multidisciplinary teams.
·  Excellent communication and storytelling skills, fluent in English.
·  Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional coordination across technical and business areas.
·  Naturally curious, analytical, and able to prioritize under pressure.
·  Committed to learning, sharing, and continuously improving how intelligence informs defense.

Why join us

You will play a central role in shaping Volvo Group’s Cybersecurity strategy - building a defense posture that is intelligence-led, data-driven, and proactive by design.

At CTIC, we don’t just watch the threat landscape. We understand it, predict it, and act before it impacts us.

Together, we strengthen the resilience of Volvo Group’s digital ecosystem and protect what moves the world.
