The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS - from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.

 

 

Responsibilities

As a Battery Module Expert , you will be an integral part of the Battery Module Design team , which operates within a collaborative environment by working closely in cross-functional teams; from requirement, concept and design, final verification, implementation in production and aftermarket. In this position, you will be responsible for and act as the Expert of the team when it comes to the development of mechanical components of the Battery Module. Your contribution will help the team in developing and optimizing the module design: concepts, specification, documentation, CAD, drawings, prototyping, test and production transfer. You will lead and support with continuous improvements of existing products as well as during product development. You will also create plans and perform releases of technical documentations as well as define module verification items and test conditions.

To be successful in this position, you are a pragmatic team-player that loves to develop system designs and components with the customer in focus. You have an extensive knowledge and experience of Energy Storage System (ESS) design with focus on both the building blocks in a complete battery pack and understand how they impact ESS performance and functionality. You are confident in leading technical solution towards suppliers and product teams and your knowledge is to the extent that you can act as a mentor by providing technical guidance to junior engineers and support their growth in the battery module area. Your expertise will contribute to the success of the entire team. 

 

What you also bring:

·  Master of science or higher in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
·  Extensive experience from design and architecture within Energy Storage Systems.
·  Experience of the battery technologies/systems within the application of electric vehicles.
·  Excellent skills in Creo/CATIA to design robust mechanical parts and taking into consideration boundary conditions for cooling/heating and swelling.
·  Experience in mechanical component design, e.g. welding structures, castings, sheet metals parts and plastic parts.
·  Knowledge in Design for modularity
·  Practical knowledge of FEM calculations
·  Knowledgeable about manufacturing of cells and battery modules.

 

It is a merit if you have experience within one or more of the following: KOLA, PDM-link, DCN releases, PTM/MS, JIRA.
