Would you like to participate in a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ project that will protect Calgary and its communities?

We are looking for a Procurement Officer to join our team and build the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir, 15km west of Calgary. The Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir will provide flood protection along the Elbow River in Calgary and other downstream communities.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Process purchase requisitions
• Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other third parties
• Follow up on requests for quotation and ensure that suppliers respond promptly to our queries
• Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings
• Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance and inventories
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history
• Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes
• Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services
• Liaise with field staff to assure perfect organization of the deliveries and ensure that dates of delivery are respected
• Inform applicants of the arrival of their orders
• Regular monitoring of the inventory

Desired profile

Requirements & Preferred Experience:

• Combination of degree and experience in legal, administrative, and operational aspects of Procurement, preferably in Construction/Production Departments
  
  
• Building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and suppliers
