Our subsidiary Veolia Irland is looking for Junior Commercial Contract Engineer
Job Description
The VIE will support the General Manager and Plant Managers in managing contract execution.
The VIE will support the delivery of all of the commercial management processes required to
ensure that the business realises the maximum sustainable value for all of our contracts and
projects with the support of the GM.
Day to Day of the Role:
● Provide support to General Manager and Plant Managers with existing Operate & Maintain(O&M) contracts
● Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project and/or PowerBI to support project implementation
and business targets
● Assisting in project delivery and supporting commercial contracts to help manage and
reduce business risks for Veolia Ireland
● Possesses strong communication skills and extensive cross-functional experience, enabling
effective collaboration across teams to drive successful outcomes and deliver innovative
solutions
● Work with the General Manager to Identify claims, give timely notice and support in
defending against claims for accelerations, disruption or losses
● Strong written communication abilities, and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial
position for the company are also essential
● Exposure to the process of estimating, pricing and quantity surveying on contract
variations and assisting the project team on projects.
● Evaluate contractor performance after project completion
● Working with the General Manager and Design Build (DB) team to develop bids and
respond to tenders.
● Work with the Plant Managers to support the preparation of monthly client reports
● Work with the Plant Managers to support the preparation of client billing
● Support operational sites with implementation of quality and safety standards systems
(VMR, LRQA etc.)
● Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Process Engineering or similar
Skills expected: Strong IT Skills, Communication Skills, Strong Attention to Detail, Resilient
Languages: English (Fluent)
