Job Description

Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) is a 12-week internship opportunity at Veolia for students to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and ecological transformation. They will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and networking events. The program aims to nurture talent, promote innovation, and foster meaningful connections between students and industry professionals. Overall, the SEED program provides students with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to make a positive impact in the industry.

Program Dates: June 2, 2025 to August 22, 2025.

Position Purpose:
An EHS Intern assists the Environmental, Health, and Safety department by conducting workplace inspections, supporting safety training initiatives, analyzing data, creating reports, managing documentation, and participating in incident investigations to identify and address potential hazards, all while gaining practical experience in EHS compliance and best practices within our company setting; requiring strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

Primary Duties /Responsibilities: 

·  Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements.
·  Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.
·  May assist in research or special projects in a variety of areas in order to fulfill business initiatives and meet business objectives.
·  Assisting the EH&S Team with various projects including Training development, delivery, and verification support.
·  Assist with Biodiversity initiatives including clover area and butterfly garden maintenance.
·  Assists with Emergency programs, including updating evacuation and safety maps.
·  Review various safety procedures and policies
·  Assist in completing weekly branch, plant, and facility inspections
·  Complete facility and plant internal audits required annually.
·  May be asked to prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analyses.
·  Produces findings and draws conclusions from analyses. Makes oral and written recommendations to management.

Internships are focused on learning and exposure to fundamental business processes and procedures.
Candidates may support any of the Veolia North America business functions.

Work Environment:

Environments vary by intership function from office to field to plant. Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern. While we may extend offers to some interns, there is no guarantee of a job offer at the end of the internship.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background: 

·    Working towards a four year degree and you have Junior status in Environmental Sciences, Health & Safety, Human Resources, or a related major.
·  3.2 Cumulative G.P.A required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: 

·   Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills / Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships

Required Certification / Licenses / Training:

·  Certification/Licenses/Training not generally required for an internship.
