Job Description

Ubisoft is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our IT Games & Studios (ITG&S) team. More precisely the Build & Orchestration team.
This role is critical to supporting and evolving the infrastructure and services that power game productions across the world. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting services that are critical to game development pipelines and used by production teams worldwide.

The ideal candidate brings an Operations mindset combined with strong development skills — someone who is as comfortable coding new features or fixing bugs as they are troubleshooting production issues. You will need to support Linux-based applications, operate in Kubernetes environments, and dive deep into existing codebases or CI/CD pipelines to resolve problems efficiently.

You will be joining a multidisciplinary team composed of system administrators, developers, and DevOps engineers, all working together to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions.

You will also play an active role in project initiatives aimed at improving and scaling our services, ensuring performance, reliability, and future readiness. As part of a worldwide team, strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

This position includes participation in an on-call rotation, including weekends, to ensure 24/7 availability of our critical systems.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities and routine tasks of this role are to:

·  Operate, maintain, and improve build orchestration infrastructure and services.
·  Collaborate with production teams to support engine pipelines and custom tooling.
·  Develop and scale backend services to enhance build distribution speed and reliability.
·  Design and maintain scripts to automate routine maintenance tasks and ensure system reliability.
·  Develop automation tools to proactively detect, report, and remediate system health issues.
·  Troubleshoot issues across the stack (infrastructure, configurations, services).
·  Implement observability and monitoring solutions for system health and performance.
·  Promote automation and DevOps best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
·  Participate in an on-call rotation during weekends to ensure service continuity and rapid response to incidents.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

·  Linux:  Advance-level expertise in production environments.
·  Kubernetes:  Advance-level knowledge and operational experience.
·  Infrastructure as Code:  Proficient with Terraform.
·  Configuration Management:  Proficient with Ansible or Chef.
·  Monitoring & Observability:  Experience with ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.

·  CI/CD Pipelines & Build Systems:  Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience.
·  Strong problem-solving skills, autonomy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have:

·  Experience in the gaming industry or large-scale content distribution systems.
·  GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
·  Knowledge of Windows and macOS environments.
