Rigger

Job description

You will be specialized in understanding character workflow and tools, rigging & skinning.

You will be working with the Animation and Art teams to ensure they are creating the highest quality content with the tools and assets provided and that the pipelines are as efficient as possible.

·  Based on the models provided by character modelers, carry out character rigging and skinning to meet the needs of the project’s animators, technical directors and art directors;
·  Adjust the skeleton whenever necessary;
·  Create and use tools to increase animation quality and effectiveness, and incorporate them into the project’s game engine through close collaboration with the animation TD while being able to assess the relevance of tool implementation;
·  Coach modelers on ways to adapt their work to better suit the animation and the art director’s vision;
·  Ensure good use of project’s naming convention and create custom controllers to facilitate the animators’ work;
·  Ensure that rigging/skinning final results meets the project’s artistic standards;
·  Recognize proper mesh topology as well as repair and/ or give feedback to the art team.
·  Preferably with a college diploma in 3D for video games, animation or equivalent
·  Experience in character/creature rigging, skinning, animation
·  Experience with Maya, 3DS Max and Blender / or in-game cutscene editors as a plus
·  Aesthetic sense & Attention to detail
·  Ability to adapt to change, flexible, open-minded
·  Ability to receive, seek and provide constructive criticism
·  Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels;

As a plus:

·  Experience with ragdolls configurations (procedural animations with physics engine) and softbody configurations
·  Experience in motion capture work
·  Knowledge of scripting
