Job Description

·  The Logistics Analyst is responsible for ensuring variable logistics costs are managed effectively within the SF organization. The role is responsible for ensuring all logistics costs are logged, monitored, controlled, minimized and passed for payment to the Accounts payable team as appropriate.  

·  Initially focused on rail logistics, the job holder is expected to monitor and manage costs incurred in the day to day operations of our business.  The job holder is expected to be pro-active and critical in undertaking this role and is expected to help identify ways of improving and automating the processes we have established to manage our logistics variable costs.  

·  Railcar, marine and truck cost management : this role is responsible for :
·  tracking all costs incurred when moving, storing or packaging our products, using the SAP ERP system and the TOTALCONNECT logistics management system as appropriate.
·  Ensuring the accuracy of costs that have been projected as a basis for establishing our business to ensure the profitability targeted by the sales team is achieved as targeted
·  Ensuring monthly costs are managed effectively and reported in a timely manner
·  Ensuring all logistics costs are accounted for in the correct time period  

·  Third party storage locations
·  Ensure all costs incurred at third party storage locations are managed effectively, and that vendor invoices (both external and inter branch) are paid in a timely manner according to TOTAL purchasing policies; observe month end cut-offs and ensure data is provided in a timely manner to CSR and logistics team and to the accounting team as necessary.  

·  Act as the primary interface between operations and TOTAL’s accounting team; ensure effective issuance of credits in line with company rules.  

·  Reconciliation : Conduct monthly reconciliation of all purchases and analysis of costs incurred at all locations to ensure coherence with budget and forecasted costs

Candidate profile

·  Bachelor’s degree with 2 plus years of work experience
·  Strong analytical abilities.
·  Must be well organized, open and flexible, able to communicate at all levels and across different organizational structures.
·  Detail oriented, structured approach to data management is required, as is the ability to analyze processes and procedures and problem solve.
·  Excellent IT skills required. SAP experience a plus Language:  French preferred but not required.

This is a critical role within the Special Fluids division in the USA since it requires the job holder to be responsible for managing a significant portion of the supply chain costs incurred within the Special Fluids Division. This role will involve coordination with affiliates and with external vendors for procurement and delivery of products from and to a variety of locations.

The job holder will be required to work in an open office environment with limited privacy and will be expected to communicate proactively in order to perform this role successfully. They will be expected to perform necessary tasks in a busy, fast paced and operational environment.
