About the Role
The HSEQ Advisor role covers the full range of health, safety, environmental quality and security responsibilities. The HSEQ Advisor ensures that all HSEQ legislation, company policies and best practices are adhered to so that all employees and contractors are able to work safely with the inherent risks associated with the Lubricants business. The HSEQ Advisor will take part in various initiatives to help develop the Company’s attitude and culture towards HSEQ as an integral part of business.
Responsibilities
· Joint ownership with the business for the achievement of safety targets and standards including the measurement of compliance and providing management reports and action plans for non-conformance in respect of HSE on a monthly basis
· Ensure that all HSEQS risks are adequately recognised and controlled for both onsite and offsite operations related to the business
· Maintain, develop and improve management systems, standards and processes in line with ISO9001, IATF 16949, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 requirements
· Review, propose and develop new procedures, standards and application guides to meet legislatory and/or “Best Practice” requirements for Loss control
· Responsible for document control systems
· Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers
· Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and effectiveness of the Management system and TOTAL group protocols, including supplier and customer site audits where applicable
· Conduct task observations, author and review risk assessments and work procedures to ensure safe working practice is adopted at all times
· Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
· Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
· Identify training needs and organise training to meet requirements
· Plan and deliver training such as Inductions, Toolbox talks and topical initiatives to develop individuals Safety knowledge and awareness
· Provide specialist advice and guidance on HSEQS elements such as vendor approval, change management and capital projects, ensuring legislatory and management system compliance, including project management of HSEQS projects as required
· In conjunction with the HSEQS Manager define, maintain and report on departmental KPI’s, identifying below performance KPI’s and putting in place action plans to correct below standard performance
· Engage and empower employees to continuously develop the safety culture and promote a strong commitment to safety from all employees
· Chair and engage in Safety committee meetings and represent TOTAL Lubricants in other HSEQS related meetings

Candidate profile
About the Candidate
· 5 years operational experience in industrial manufacturing or process environment, ideally with a technical, engineering or safety discipline
· Professional qualification in Health & Safety to General Certificate level (NEBOSH, IOSH)
· An in-depth knowledge of HSEQ management systems is essential
· Good oral and written communication skills, confident, assertive and the ability to work with personnel at all levels
