Web Development Internship
Internship Manchester (Greater Manchester) Community management
Job description
About The Prologue
The Prologue is a passionate multi-award-winning social enterprise with the mission to empower a global movement of young people, placing them at the forefront of society. We partly achieve this through aspirational personalised stories and through our ‘New Leaders’ program, which enables young people to create and run their own charities and enterprises as a means to have a greater voice and create positive change in ways that are meaningful to them. Achieving empowerment on an individual, organisation and community level, we are developing a Young Society that consists of young people’s own charities and enterprises, their own media and a new democratic political system, ensuring young people are the present and not just the future.
Job Description:
After the young people we serve, our team members are the most important people to us and so the role of Website Development Intern is tremendously important as this is often the first aspect of the organisation that our community sees. Our core values are Community, Passion, Purpose and Empowerment and so it is imperative that all those working within the organisation, along with our Ambassadors and community members, are simultaneously working in areas they most care about and personally find most purposeful whilst also contributing towards our mission. Therefore, we will create a bespoke role catered to your specific passions and aspirations, as opposed to the way most internships operate.
The Web Development Intern is responsible for creating and maintaining a well functioning and visually appealing design for the company webpage with occasional updates to the website exclusively for our book. Whilst you will be supported by a full time member of the team, designers and copywriters, applicants will need to have some relevant experience (either employed work, or own personal projects).
We're looking forward to meet you!
Desired profile
Requirements:
- Currently studying a Bachelor's/Master’s degree in a relevant subject
- Evidence of web design experience
- Experience with WordPress (as a bare minimum)
- Ability to work a minimum of one day per week (although hours are flexible and can be changed to suit your University schedule)
Person Specification:
Somebody who can passionately contribute towards our mission, vision and values whilst working on their aspirations in order to grow together.
Duration of Internship:
We can have a conversation about what suits you best. People who simultaneously study and volunteer their time, talent and efforts are tremendously undervalued. As this is an unpaid internship (excluding travel expenses), this must benefit you in many other ways like it will surely benefit us. We’ll make this work for you as long as it doesn’t negatively impact achieving our vision, which always comes first.
Unless you specify otherwise, it will be assumed that your personal life and studies come first. We will be very grateful for whatever contribution you may provide and so this position is extremely flexible in every respect.
Additional Info: Regardless of your decisions in life, we wish you the best in your future and hope you don’t compromise what is important to you!
