Primary Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for an experienced, high-energy, hands-on, Sales Engineer for our rapidly growing Cloud and Managed Services Sales Team in EMEA. This person will be paired with a Cloud Sales Channel Manager (EMEA) and will be responsible for;
i. Technical selling efforts (e.g. presentations, on-site proof-of-concepts) to cloud and managed service providers to standardise on Vormetric Data Security Solutions for their end customer data security needs
ii. Once standardised, working with cloud service providers' sales teams as a Subject Matter Exert to support ‘sell thru' opportunities, and
iii. Technical enablement and training for Cloud Services provider's SEs and solution architect teams
The Cloud Sales Engineer will report to the EMEA Director of Sales Engineering and will be expected to collaborate closely with the Product Management and Engineering leaders/teams. This role demands an individual that is prepared to travel extensively to secure business for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Works closely with Sales Teams as a technical consultant for Thales eSecurity technologies during sales calls, at sales meetings and at exhibitions across the territory
• In particular, acts as our subject matter expert in encryption, tokenisation and the Vormetric Data Security Product Line for cloud and managed service providers across EMEA
• Understands requirements and designs encryption solutions to address those requirements
• Answers technical questions and conducts demonstrations of Thales products and new features to prospects and existing accounts
• Plans with customers Proof of Concept environments for products to be tested, which includes completing the Acceptance Test Plan that defines requirements and success criteria
• Installs and configures the Vormetric Data Security Manager (DSM, virtual or physical) and agents to provide Proof of Concepts. This includes installing software on UNIX, Windows and Linux operating systems as well as scripting processes
• Conducts technical product training classes on Thales eSecurity solutions
• Gathers ongoing prospect/customer feedback and related information. Works with Product Management to prioritise and define customer enhancement requests
• Delivers remote and field-based product installations, problem resolution and general technical support

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Familiarity with major cloud service provider platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Rackspace Cloud/Hosting Services etc.) and cloud enablement technology and automation platforms (e.g., VMware, Openstack, Chef, Ansible, etc.)
• Hands-on technical competence with integrating server end security products
• Experience supporting customers with technical challenges in pre-sales efforts
• Skills in UNIX, Linux and Windows Server operating systems. Both an understanding and hands-on experience are necessary
• Enterprise software installation experience is required; Installation across private, public and hybrid clouds a plus
• Background in at least one of the following: Databases (Oracle, MS-SQL, MongoDB, etc), Storage (SAN, NAS, etc), Big Data (Hortonworks, Hadoop, etc)
