Primary Purpose of the Role:

Thales Cyber and Consulting Services, has long been established as a leading human factors consultancy. We have a high calibre team of human factors professionals who support projects in the defence, rail and nuclear sectors.
The key purpose of the role is to provide human factors/ergonomics consultancy support to clients, either from Thales' offices or our external client's premises, working closely to help optimise their human and organisational capability, achieve maximum systems performance, and effectively deliver the most technologically challenging and assured projects.

Key Responsibilities:

· You will be a specialist in human factors with expertise that is recognized within Thales Cyber and Consulting Services.
· Provide human factors support to human factors consulting team.
· Bring state of the art (i.e. compliant with standard industry practice) human factors expertise to bids and projects.
· Represent Thales, interfacing with external bodies such as standardisation bodies, universities, research laboratories, defence, critical national infrastructure (nuclear, energy, transportation) as well as internal Thales clients.
· Occasionally attend and speak at conferences deemed relevant to the company's marketing strategy and produce a brief post-conference report for the conference tracker.
· Attend meetings of the human factors team at the company's Reading offices unless there is a more pressing engagement, such as a client meeting, agreed with the Human Factors Capability Lead in advance.
· Contribute to and read the monthly human factors team internal reports.
· Support human factors bids in conjunction with the company bid/gate process.
· Actively promote the Thales human factors capability within Thales and to potential external clients.
· Seek to generate new human factors business and maintain good relationships with, and positive feedback from, existing clients.
Skills & Experience:

· Human Factors, Ergonomics, Occupational Psychology or equivalent degree.
· Excellent client liaison skills.
· Good interpersonal skills.
· Good presentation skills (written and oral).
· Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated internal or external engineering team.
· Ability to apply a range of human factors methods and tools such as task analysis, workstation and workstation design, control room design, workload assessment, HCI/HMI design and assessment, user-testing, Human Reliability Assessment (HRA), manpower assessment, and Training Needs Analysis.
