YOUR ROLE

The Hook‑up Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising offshore/onsite hook‑up and commissioning activities to safely connect and integrate new facilities, systems, and equipment with existing installations. The role ensures work is executed in compliance with project specifications, HSE standards, schedule, and budget.

Project Planning & Coordination

·  Develop detailed hook‑up execution plans, work packs, and task lists based on project scope and design documents.
·  Coordinate interfaces between engineering, construction, procurement, commissioning, and onsite operations.
·  Participate in constructability reviews and risk assessments for hook‑up activities.
·  Coordinating man‑power for site execution.

2. Engineering & Technical Support

·  Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, layouts, cable schedules, and installation procedures.
·  Provide technical clarifications to the site team and subcontractors.
·  Ensure design and field changes are captured, evaluated, and approved through the Management of Change (MOC) process.

3. Site Execution & Supervision

·  Mobilize and support onsite crews during hook‑up/de hookup and pre‑commissioning activities.
·  Monitor daily progress, productivity, and work quality; propose recovery measures when required.
·  Ensure correct installation, alignment, and connection of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and piping systems as per specifications.
·  Liaise with offshore client representatives, marine logistics, and construction supervisors.

4. HSE & Compliance

·  Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and client HSE policies.
·  Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSA), tool‑box talks, and safety audits.
·  Ensure hook‑up activities are carried out in line with applicable standards, codes, and project procedures.

5. Interface with Commissioning & Operations

·  Coordinate with commissioning engineers to align hook‑up sequence with testing and start‑up requirements.
·  Support preparation and closure of mechanical completion (MC) and pre‑commissioning dossiers.
·  Participate in system walk‑downs and punch list clearance with client/operations teams.

6. Documentation & Reporting

·  Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, including key performance indicators and risks.
·  Ensure as‑built information, red‑marked drawings, and field changes are properly documented.
·  Contribute to project close‑out reports and lessons‑learned sessions.
·  Prepare & raise PR/PO after collaboration with Purchaser.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

·  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, or related Engineering discipline
·  Typically 3–7 years experience in project engineering, construction, hook‑up, or commissioning (offshore/onshore).
·  Good verbal and written communication skills
·  Proficient with computers
·  Independent and hands-on
·  Good sense of urgency and taking the initiative
·  Able to work in a fast-paced environment and on normal shift
·  AutoCAD skill is an added advantage.
