Job description
Spotify is looking for a strategic social marketing manager to join the social team within our Content Marketing department. You will be focusing specifically on podcast and original content campaigns, reporting into the Head of Social Media and Marketing Content and closely partnering with the Head of Studios Marketing and leaders of the Podcast and Original Content teams.
This is a hybrid role requiring the core capabilities of strategy, project management and creative, all rooted in social marketing. Your job boils down to formulating data-driven, social-first strategies, complementary to master campaign briefs, ensuring innovative creative output by guiding and informing conceptual creative teams, as well as managing the creation of high-quality “always on” and organic social media creative that extends and sustains campaign initiatives and messaging.
This position very much hinges on your ability to build positive and trusted relationships with stakeholders across the business, specifically within the Content Business Unit. Excellent organizational and time management skills are vital. You should be very comfortable working with data and interpreting and applying insights.
On top of your marketing and brand experience, a strategic understanding of and experience/expertise within the podcast, streaming entertainment and tech industries is necessary for the ideal candidate, and of course a passion for podcasts, entertainment, culture and storytelling.
What you’ll do
· Directly manage social workstreams and have oversight of the social process from brief to campaign analysis
· Analyses of social content performance and audience insights (paid and organic) to inform longer-term strategic decisions for content and platforms.
· Cross-functional interaction with key stakeholders
· Leveraging human, cultural, and audience insights to develop interesting social creative strategies for creative teams to deliver against
· Liaise between in-house creative teams, agencies, and freelancers to facilitate project coordination and execution.
· Find new content and engagement opportunities by keeping an eye on what's changing in the industry.
· Understand channel planning across new and traditional social channels
· Develop + deliver presentations to effectively inform and influence teams
· Understand the social category and competitive environments
· Understand the audio industry competitive environment (Podcasts)
· Act as a trusted advisor to the business around new social technology and its impact on the content business
Who you are
· A voracious podcast omnivore, well-versed in the various formats, shows and personalities in the space.
· Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative, ever-changing environment
· A collaborative mind-set and proven track record of influencing peers
· Experience running and delivering complex digital/social marketing projects
· A strong creative sensibility, POV and ability to share + sell creative work
· Ability to work under pressure and with eminent deadlines
· 5-7 years of experience working in marketing / social marketing, either at an agency or client side
· At least 3 years experience working at a podcast, streaming network or entertainment marketing/agency.
· Deep understanding of paid social strategy / social analytics
· Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
· Has a flexible schedule and is available to travel
