We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Purchasing team as a Strategic Buyer at our Cwmbran site.
About the role:
This role offers the opportunity to work on RFP/Q processes with strategic suppliers and driving impactful cost saving initiatives. You'll manage supplier relationships, develop long term agreements, and support exciting engineering programmes by ensuring materials are delivered on time, in full, and to the highest quality.
You will be working cross functionally across the business and contribute to influence high value purchasing decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Run RFPs and RFQs with our strategic suppliers, making sure you gather the right technical information and compare proposals effectively.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers, working closely with them to ensure quality, on time delivery, and smooth communication.
* Raise and manage purchase orders based on MRP data, keeping track of what's needed for upcoming programme milestones.
* Support new product introductions, helping to coordinate the purchasing of composite, metallic, and electrical parts during industrialisation phases.
* Monitor performance and key metrics, making sure KPIs, order books, and supplier performance reports are kept up to date and acted upon.
* Create and maintain long term supplier agreements, ensuring commercial terms support programme needs and long term collaboration.

Desired profile
What you'll bring:
Knowledge, Experience, Training and Qualifications
Essential:
* 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) including Maths and English, A-C grade preferred.
* Purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
* Experience in problem solving techniques.
Competencies, Behaviours and Skills
Essential:
* Ability to communicate at all levels.
* Able to work on own initiative.
* Ability to establish good working relationships across departments and with supplier representatives at all levels.
* Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work.
* Strong team player.
