Job description
The Stock Clerk receives, stores and issues various materials, raw stock, parts, sub-assemblies, and supplies or customer furnished property. Maintains records of issuance and receipt of items. Responsible for the proper identification of all materials in stock. Prepares stock items for storage or movement without damage. Maintains clerical records.

Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• or one year related experience and/or training
• or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to use a calculator and have some knowledge of personal computers as well as the ability to type.
• Basic math skills.
• Good communicator, integrator and team player.

Physical Demands
• Both standing and walking are required.
• Ability to talk and hear.
• The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Candidate skills & requirements
• Receives, unloads and stores material, parts, raw stock, sub-assemblies, customer furnished parts and supplies. Checks items received against receiving reports, purchase orders, material requisitions, notice of shipments (stock transfer), packing slips or travel tickets for quantity, routing, inspection, part number and/or other factors.
• Stores items in accordance with stockroom practice, relocates, and rearranges when necessary. Labels storage bins as required. Maintains proper housekeeping of all stock areas.
• Issues materials, parts, sub-assemblies and supplies to fill requisitions, stock transfers, sales orders and PWO picklists on a first-in, first-out basis, checking disbursement documents for completeness and conformity with established procedures.
• Process and completes receiving, stocking and disbursing documents by checking part numbers, unit of measure, quantity and authorizations. Enters quantity issued and performs material transactions within computer systems.
• Exchange non-conforming material returned from manufacturing and performs material transactions placing items in bond.
• Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture,
• Regular, predictable attendance is required;
• Other duties may be assigned.
