Job description
As a Senior Production Controller at Safran, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing processes within the Production Control team to ensure customer demand requirements are met. You will focus on short-term supply management, driving on-time delivery (OTD) and reducing arrears while maintaining optimal inventory levels. Your responsibilities will include collaborating cross-functionally, managing escalations, and ensuring real-time problem resolution in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
• Co-ordinate cross-functionally with individuals to ensure planning and customer requirements are synchronized with processes and deliverables for kitting, operations, production, special processes, subcontractor suppliers and packing/shipping.
• Act as a customer focal for the delivery assurance and commitments. Feedback on any requirements from the customers to expedite on the commits.
• Where material supply mismatches occur vs demand requirements, support supply-chain improvement or escalate material supply exceptions in a timely manner (internal and/or external)
• Generate and report performance data and risks to the leadership team, supporting with mitigation plans.
• Develop and maintain weekly production and kitting plans while ensuring adherence to inventory forecasts and plans when required.
• Monitor adherence to inventory plans, including process control and aged WIP reduction.
• Ensure completion of the Build Plan and review execution performance (QCPC).
• Manage escalation processes for sustained deviations from the plan. Collaborate with the SIOP function to improve processes such as forecast accuracy and material master data.
• Construct and implement standard work instructions aligned with management requirements.
• Support production control lead to coach and develop the production control team, identifying skills gaps and ensuring appropriate development plans are in place.
• Support inventory optimisation initiatives (PFEP) and analyse data to drive improvements.
• Ensure the team of Production Controllers are maintaining and managing the production plan scheduling activities in line with ERP principles
• Support SIOP team and production control load with reporting and gathering KPIs and escalations.
• Act as support and cover for production control lead as holiday cover.

Technical Competencies
• Experience of production, inventory and load and capacity planning
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience using ERP Systems, preferably SAP to the advanced knowledge level.
• An understanding of lean techniques employed within a manufacturing environment
• An understanding of shop floor planning within a manufacturing environment
