Job description

responsible for performing electrical, functional, and visual inspections of electrical assemblies, wiring harnesses, and electronic products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This position utilizes a variety of electrical test equipment to verify product performance, troubleshoot failures, document test results, and support manufacturing operations. The technician works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure reliable and compliant products are delivered.

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in electrical testing, manufacturing, or electronics troubleshooting.

• Experience working in a production or aerospace/defense environment is a plus.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

Candidate skills & requirements

Functional Testing

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in performing electrical and functional testing, including:

• Conducting High Potential (Hi-Pot/High Voltage) Testing to verify insulation integrity and electrical safety.

• Operating oscilloscopes to perform electrical measurements and verify circuit operation.

• Using milliohm meters to measure low-resistance connections and verify continuity.

• Operating digital multimeters (DMMs) to measure voltage, current, resistance, and continuity.

• Performing functional testing of electrical assemblies and subassemblies following established test procedures.

• Recording and documenting test results accurately.

Visual Inspection

Candidates should be able to:

• Perform visual inspections of electrical assemblies, harnesses, and components.

• Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.

• Verify:

o Labels and markings

o Wire routing

o Tie knots and cable lacing

o Harness workmanship

o Connector installation and orientation

o General workmanship in accordance with engineering drawings and quality standards

Technical Skills

• Proficient with:

o High Potential (Hi-Pot) Test Equipment

o Oscilloscopes

o Digital Multimeters (DMMs)

o Milliohm Meters

o Power supplies and standard electronic test equipment

• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.

• Knowledge of ESD handling procedures and electrical safety practices.
