Overview:
Safran Electrical Components Canada Inc., specializing in the manufacturing of fluid conveyance and electrical components for aerospace, defense and commercial customers, is looking for a motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety. You will be responsible for contributing to, implementing, and executing quality assurance processes, procedures, and standards to guarantee the integrity of our products from supplier to customer. Your attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement will be essential in maintaining our reputation for delivering superior components.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and standards for the manufacturing of products, in compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Complete first article inspections and related documentation in accordance with AS9102 and customer expectations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, customers and supply chain, to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Perform root cause analysis and failure investigations to identify the underlying causes of quality deviations and implement preventive measures.
Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, procedures, and reports, to ensure traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Provide training and support to production staff on quality assurance processes, procedures, and tools.
Participate in daily operational meetings, reporting on product quality and RCCA topics.
Participate in customer audits and certifications to demonstrate compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and best practices in quality assurance to continuously improve processes and procedures.

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification in quality assurance is a plus.
Minimum 3+ years' experience working in a quality assurance role within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
In-depth knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and tools, including statistical process control, root cause analysis (5why / 8D), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
Familiarity with aerospace quality management systems, such as AS9100 and NADCAP, and regulatory requirements, such as AS9102 and FAA regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends and patterns. Ability to remain objective.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Strong conflict management skills.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on technical accuracy and precision in quality assurance activities.
Proficiency in quality assurance software tools and applications, such as Minitab and Excel. Experience with Quality Management Software (QMS), and Computer-Aided Quality (CAQ) systems considered an asset.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings to determining conformance of product. Internally escalate potential product/process quality issues and develop solutions to resolve them. Participate on Material Review Boards to decide how non-conforming product is dispositioned.
Drives objectives to completion, self-motivated and able to prioritise own workload. Assertive and capable of defining priorities.
Up to 5% travel (domestic and international), supporting suppliers and customers with product issues and performing audits.
Minor lifting (25lbs) may be required to review product.
