Wheels and carbon brakes equipment are high added value products on which the manufacturing process must be controlled in order to avoid production's scraps.
By supporting and promoting co-engineering between design and manufacturing engineering teams, the Product Improvement Engineer contributes to increase Wheels and Brakes products manufacturability by reducing production non-quality.
Product Improvement Engineer works in a cooperative team environment with the Manufacturing Engineering team in Walton USA and the Design Engineering team in Vélizy FR.
His/her main task is the depth analysis of Boeing's Products Non Conformances in production in orders to highlight those which could be eradicated by part design modifications.
In such way, he/she must put in place a ritual to gather, analyze and sort production's Non Conformances.
Integration milestones and main missions are:

Familiarize with Wheels & Brakes Products Design and Analysis engineering processes, methods and tools in Vélizy France. (6 months period as a minimum).

Familiarize with Products manufactured at Walton USA, Wheels & Brakes factory.
·
To support Non Conformance in production Pareto's charts by Program; Parts and type of defect family analysis.
·
To participate in the Non Conformance's apparition Root Cause Analysis.
·
To participate in the production process Statistical Control activities.
·
To map Process lack of capability regarding the part design.
·
To support Control Plans Optimization activities.
·
To write and process Request For Design Change in order to ease part manufacturing.
·
To develop and support deployment of Repeat Concession approval process in Walton production site.
·
To gather Design For Manufacturing best practice in a guide for Design & Analysis team.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Preferred.
IT Skills: Proficiency in the use of common software packages including MS office suite. MS Power BI knowledge would be an advantage.
CAD: Catia V5
Knowledge: Solid understanding of Engineering and Manufacturing, Project Management, Lean Principles.
Other Skills: Capacity to operate in a pluri-disciplinary, inter-cultural and international environment.
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work directly with senior leaders.
Able to motivate and influence teams without a direct line of authority.
Practical Knowledge of Quality tools, 8D, 5 Whys, Statistical Process Control, Measurement System Analysis.
