Job description
Summary/Objective:
The MRO Team Lead is responsible for daily operational leadership of the repair maintenance team at Safran Nacelles Services Americas, a 70,000 square feet modern MRO facility. This role ensures safe, compliant, quality, and efficient execution of nacelle maintenance and repair activities in alignment with SAFRAN standards, FAA regulations, customer requirements, and internal operational targets. The MRO Team Lead is the front-line leader overseeing mechanics, allocating resources, coordinating with planning and supply chain, engineering, and quality departments to meet repair schedules while ensuring quality standards are being met.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
· Operational Leadership
• Oversee day to day execution of disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, assembly, and paint related tasks for nacelles
• Assign work to mechanics based on qualifications, workload priorities, shift coverage, and shop planning schedule to meet on-time delivery targets
• Monitor workflow progress, remove bottlenecks, and escalate issues as needed to optimize shopfloor operations
• Detect opportunities for process efficiency and labor productivity improvements; Suggest and implement solutions
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, Repair Station Manuals, Quality policies, FAA regulations, and SAFRAN MRO process standards
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to mechanics; ensure accessibility of technical data for repairs; support troubleshooting
• Review and validate work performed; Ensure accuracy of documentation and compliance with airworthiness requirements
• Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Planning teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes
• Manage personnel work hours, scheduled time off, shift schedules, and overtime to meet the customer requirements
• Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions
· People Management & Development
• Lead a team of 20 A&P licensed mechanics
• Conduct daily start of shift meetings, SQDCPI, department meetings, and safety briefings
• Methodically develop the team to ensure versatility and autonomy of mechanics across all serviced programs and products
• Identify required training needs and contribute to the employee's career management
• Coach team members on technical skill, quality mindset, and SAFRAN culture
• Promote team cohesion in accordance with the values of the Safran Together Model
· Safety, Quality & Compliance
• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures
• Drive safe behaviors and support deviation reporting, incident investigations, and risk mitigations
• Enforce safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with approved technical data, engineering instructions, and customer requirements

Education/Certifications
Minimum:
• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license. If not A&P licensed, you will be required to obtain a Repairman license upon employment
Experience
Required:
• A minimum of 5 years aerospace experience including supervisory experience in aviation maintenance or manufacturing environments
Preferred:
• More than 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in aviation maintenance or manufacturing environments
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as an aviation technician in an aviation or military organization.
Travel
Less than 5% with potential for international travel
Candidate skills & requirements
• Partner with the Quality team to resolve nonconformities, audit findings, and inspection holds
• Maintain a culture of zero-defect execution and strict adherence to part tagging, documentation, and configuration control
• Actively participating in a continuous improvement culture providing recommendations and implementing enhancements to current methods and procedures. Continually improving the workspace through 5S.
· Operation Coordination & KPI Management
• Execute daily/weekly operational plans in collaboration with Planning & Control.
• Track key performance indicators (TAT, productivity, rework, overtime, WIP status, and team utilization). Implement corrective actions as needed
• Utilize computer software programs and applications in assigning, verifying, tracking, and monitoring metrics and job assignments.
• Manage job pacing using Epicor ERP system, daily reports, digital pacing through PowerBI dashboards, and shop floor activity monitoring.

Physical Requirements:
• Subjected to inside environmental conditions, noise, vibration, oils and other related industrial hazards
• Vocal communication, hearing, and visual acuity are required for safety, direction, and the exchange of ideas in the industrial environment
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, writing and typing
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds
• The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.

• Understands and can comply with the FAA and EASA return to service requirements
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions accurately, including the reading and interpretation of technical maintenance instructions
• Proficient and comfortable with loading/unloading transportation trucks, including usage of forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
