Description:
The Manufacturing Specialist for Energy Management and Maintenance is responsible for overseeing energy usage, building improvement and efficiency projects and ensuring the optimal operation of manufacturing equipment and systems. He links energy management initiatives with maintenance strategies to ensure sustainable and cost-effective operations within the manufacturing facility.
Summary of tasks:
Sponsor of the Energy for Buildings standard.
Identify, recommend and implement energy saving strategies to achieve more energy efficient operation.
Inspect and monitor energy systems, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), to determine energy consumption or potential energy savings.
Collect, analyze and verify information relating to plant energy consumption and production equipment efficiency, including utility metering data, plant energy bills and statements.
Identify, develop and execute energy saving projects to improve building performance and efficiency.
Review architectural, mechanical or electrical drawings or specifications to assess energy efficiency.
Working with the maintenance team to implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for equipment and the building.
Coordinating with third-party suppliers on specific energy management and facility maintenance projects.
Prepares and submits periodic reports to management on energy efficiency and maintenance effectiveness.
Candidate skills & requirements
Qualifications:
Education: At least a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline.
Experience: At least one year's experience in energy management, building maintenance or facilities management in an industrial environment. Experience of reading and coordinating mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural drawings.
Computer skills: Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
Other skills: - Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and HVAC systems for industrial buildings / Excellent project management skills / Fluently bilingual in French and English.
