Job description
What does the role look like?
We're recruiting multiple Machinists to support growth across our Next Generation Bevel Gear cell, with opportunities available on Double Days, Makino and Night shifts.
This is a chance to work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art machining environment, operating the latest CNC technology and advanced automation. As part of a highly skilled team, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating and overseeing multiple CNC machines, while supporting the introduction of new processes, equipment and technology within the cell.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
• Set up, operate and make basic adjustments to 5-axis turning and milling machines
• Monitor machine performance and production quality, addressing first-line technical issues
• Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers on new part introductions and ongoing cell development
• Follow defined process layouts, work instructions and compliance systems
• Support First Line Maintenance and TPM activities within the cell
• Move materials, manage SWIP and ensure tooling and equipment availability
• Actively contribute to lean events and continuous improvement activities
• Adhere to all EHS procedures and safety standards at all times

Candidate skills & requirements
What will you bring to the role?
Essential skills:
• Minimum 3 years' experience setting and operating CNC machines in a precision engineering environment
• Experience with 5-axis machining, including mill-turn operations and use of inspection equipment
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering or Manufacturing
Desirable skills:
• Apprentice-trained background
• Experience working on Makino machines
• Exposure to new technology, automation or cell introduction
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving approach
• Flexibility and willingness to work shifts (Double Days, Makino or Nights)
