Job description
The EHS Executive is responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace. This role oversees the implementation of Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental policies and initiatives, manages risk assessments, compliance, emergency preparedness, and training programs. The EHS Executive serves as the primary site expert on safety and environmental matters, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all operations.
General Responsibilities
• Adhere to and actively participate in Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental; and Energy policies, procedures and activities such as I-See I-Act, GPI, Low Carbon initiative, etc.
• Comply with Business Ethics, Anti-Corruption, Flight Safety Management System, and others relevant corporate and local policies, procedures and activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of EHS objectives.
A. Compliance & Legal Requirements
• Ensure compliance with:
o Safran HSE Standards
o Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994
o Environmental Quality Act 1974
o Factories and Machinery Act 1967
o Local council, BOMBA, and others related authorities
• Maintain legal registers, permits, licenses, and conduct regular legal reviews.
B. Safety & Risk Management
• Lead HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control)
• Monitoring of Permit-To-Work systems (Hot Work, Confined Space, Working at Height, LOTO)
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and internal audits
• Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA/RPO) and corrective implementationa nd REX communication
• Liaise with DOSH for permitting and report submission through MyKKP system
C. Environmental Compliance
• Handle scheduled waste per Malaysia's Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations
• Ensure waste segregation, labeling, storage, and disposal are in compliance
• Ensure compliance for pollution control systems (e.g., scrubbers, filters,)
• Liaise with DOE for Environmental Monitoring and Reporting (e.g., Scheduled Waste Inventory, eSWIS, etc.)
• General waste management onsite - Waste streams specific to MRO: metal shavings, used oils, hydraulic fluid, paint / coating wastes, abrasive blasting wastes, etc.
D. Emergency Response
• Develop, review, and test Emergency Response Plans (ERP)
• Coordinate with BOMBA, First Aid, Spill Response Teams
• Ensure compliance emergency kits, extinguishers, eye-wash stations and management of Safety Data Sheet for chemical
E. Training & Culture
• Plan and conduct EHS training: EHS induction, PPE usage, fire safety, first aid
• Drive safety campaigns and toolbox meetings
• Build awareness of safety culture among all employees and contractors
F. Reporting & Documentation
• Submit EHS performance reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually)
• Maintain incident logs, safety data, audit findings, risk assessments
• Track KPIs: TRIR, LTI, near-misses, environmental

• Occasional travel between Nilai - Sendayan.
• Availability for extended hours during emergency situations or audits.
• On-site presence during emergency drills, inspections, and incident response activities.
Candidate skills & requirements
•Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering
•Certified CePSWaM with DOE
•Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH (Green Book) – is an advantages or at least completed and passed the Safety & Health Officer (SHO) course
•2–5 years in a similar EHS role, preferably in an MRO, aviation, manufacturing, or high-risk industry
•Strong exposure to Malaysian regulations and enforcement standards
•OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, EQA 1974 & related regulations
•Familiar with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA compliance frameworks
•HIRARC, incident investigation, ISO systems, audit management
•Excellent reporting, analytical, and communication skills
•Strong coordination with internal/external stakeholders
•Strong communication (Malay & English), report writing, presentation
• Analytical skills, judgment, ability to conduct root cause investigations.
• Good leadership / coordination ability (especially if supervising contractors / multiple teams)
• Ability to train others, build safety culture.
• Computer skills: MS Office, PowerBI etc
