Sales Director, Clothing and Accessories – Purdey
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
The Director of Sales will lead and execute a comprehensive global commercial strategy across all channels: physical retail, private sales, eCommerce, and wholesale. You will be a strategic leader with a passion for luxury, a proven track record of driving revenue growth, and the ability to build a high-performance sales culture.
· Strategic leadership and execution: Develop and implement a robust global multi-channel commercial strategy to maximise revenue and profitability, with a strong emphasis on identifying and capitalising international growth opportunities. This includes market segmentation, channel optimisation, and innovative go-to-market strategies.
· Market analysis and opportunity identification: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and untapped potential in both domestic and international markets. Develop and implement strategies to capitalise on these opportunities, leveraging data-driven insights.
· Team leadership and development: Lead, and motivate a high-performance sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and results orientation. Provide coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities to ensure the team's continued success.
· Channel management and optimisation: Oversee and optimise all sales channels, including physical retail (domestic & international), eCommerce (purdey.com and shop.purdey.com), and wholesale. Drive innovation and efficiency across all sales channels to maximise reach and profitability.
· International expansion: Spearhead the exploration and development of new international opportunities and routes to market. Develop and execute innovative go-to-market strategies that prioritise direct customer relationships and cross-business synergies.
· Financial management and reporting: Manage sales budgets, forecasts, and reporting across all channels, ensuring profitability targets are met and cost budgets are adhered to. Provide regular updates to the CEO and leadership team on sales performance and market trends.
· Client relationship management: Champion a client-centric approach, leveraging data analytics to strengthen client relationships and drive customer loyalty. Develop and implement a comprehensive client data management strategy and foster a culture of clienteling across the organisation.
· Brand ambassadorship: Act as a brand ambassador for Purdey, representing the Maison with passion, integrity, and a deep understanding of its heritage and values.
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
· Innovative, creative, and driven with exceptional strategic thinking and execution abilities.
· Strong experience in sales leadership roles (ideally within the luxury goods industry however not required), with a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and driving significant business growth.
· Demonstrated success in developing and implementing international expansion strategies, including market entry, channel development, and partnership management.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, mentor, and motivate high-performing sales teams in a global environment.
· Deep understanding of Retail operations, eCommerce, and wholesale distribution channels.
· Expertise in sales strategies, business development, and client relationship management within the luxury market.
· Strong ability to collaborate with key stakeholders across the organisation to achieve shared goals.
· Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
· Passion for heritage brands, craftsmanship, and the luxury lifestyle.
