Role Overview
Are you a recent graduate or junior engineer excited by the prospect of not just building software, but shaping it? Do you thrive on understanding the "why" behind features and enjoy connecting directly with the people who use your products? If so, Richemont is looking for a bright, motivated Junior Product Engineer to join our dynamic team.
This role blends full-stack web development with elements of product management and business analysis. You won't just be coding features; you'll be interacting directly with internal customers, understanding the business, evaluating opportunities, and taking ownership of solutions from concept to deployment. This is an exceptional opportunity to develop both deep technical skills and strong business acumen early in your career.
Responsibilities
· Full Stack Development: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain user-facing web applications, encompassing both front-end (UI/UX) and back-end (server-side logic, databases, APIs) development,
· Support and Maintenance: Provide support, extend and maintain existing business applications, and help migrate legacy platforms to newer technologies (Sharepoint/Power Apps, UiPath RPA, PHP/Laravel, React/Node).
· Customer Interaction & Requirements Gathering: Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand their challenges, gather feedback, and elicit detailed requirements for new features or improvements.
· Product & Business Analysis: Analyze customer requests and potential product opportunities. Evaluate features based on factors like potential Return on Investment (ROI), user impact, and alignment with business goals. Understand the underlying need and propose effective solutions – even if they don’t involve writing new software.
· Prioritization & Ownership: Manage your own project priorities based on business value and customer needs. Take ownership of features throughout the entire development lifecycle, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
· Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across the stack, ensuring application performance and reliability.
· Communication & Collaboration: Clearly communicate technical concepts, project status, and product insights to both technical and non-technical audiences (including customers, team members, and potentially sales/support). Collaborate effectively within an agile development environment.
· Documentation: Create and maintain necessary technical and user documentation.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, OR equivalent practical experience (e.g., coding bootcamp graduate with a strong portfolio).
· 0-2 years of experience in web development (strong internships, co-ops, or significant personal projects count).
· Solid foundation in web development fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
· Experience with at least one modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
· Experience with at least one server-side language and framework (e.g., Node.js/Express, Python/Django/Flask, PHP/Laravel, Ruby/Rails, Java/Spring, C#/ASP.NET).
· Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and API design principles (RESTful APIs).
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Must be comfortable, articulate, and professional when interacting directly with customers.
· Demonstrated ability to understand user needs and a genuine interest in solving customer problems.
· Basic understanding of business concepts and a willingness to evaluate work based on impact and value.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn with a strong sense of ownership.
· Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint/Power Apps platforms.
· Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
· Experience with containerization technology (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Podman).
· Familiarity with automated testing frameworks or Robotic Process Automation.
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
· Previous customer-facing experience (even hackathons, prototypes, side-hustles, sales or customer service experience).
