Job Description

Internship description

You will be part of Dacia Chassis Simulation Team , which validates chassis design via simulations.

You will run wheel impact simulations on the twist beam rear axle of the next Dacia platform. The twist beam is a complex part, with several sheet metal parts welded together. You will work with one FEA model used in development and perform variations on its design. Your objective will be to improve the geometry of the cross-member so that the twist beam’s behavior in wheel impact complies with the design requirements. You will also perform sensitivity analyses to understand how the twist beam behavior changes with variations in input parameters such as:

• B earing stiffness
• Presence / absence of anti-roll bar
• Wheel vertical position

Your expected internship output is

1) Cross-member optimization of the twist beam without anti-roll bar

2) System sensitivity to bearing stiffness

Required skills

·  Good understanding of the automotive chassis
·  Basic knowledge of FEA, mechanics and strength of materials
·  You read & speak good English
·  Optionally, an interest in programming languages

What we offer

·  Overview of simulation role in vehicle development, with focus on chassis simulation: wheel impact, durability, NVH and multibody analyses
·  Training in software packages widely used in the automotive industry, Pamcrash , Abaqus , Ansa & Meta (pre & post processor)
·  Opportunity to correlate the simulation with physical test results and (possibly, depending on project planning) to witness a vehicle physical test.

All applicants will be considered, irrespective of their nationality, gender, disability, age, race, skin clour, religion, pregnancy, sexual orientation.
