Context

Within the development of trunk door systems, robust parametrized models are required in CATIA V6, allowing efficient adaptation to geometric and functional variations of the vehicle. Additionally, electric gas stay simulations play a key role in evaluating the opening/closing performance of the trunk door. Modeling the equilibrating law is essential for the correct sizing and validation of the tailgate kinematic system, ensuring user comfort and compliance with effort and safety requirements.

Intern Responsibilities:

·
Research on:

·
automotive trunk door trims (materials, interfaces, constraints),

·
gas stay technologies, including electric actuated gas struts and their kinematic behavior,

·
functional requirements: assembly, tolerances, integration.

·
CAD analysis of mounting areas and trim interfaces in CATIA V6.

·
Creation of a parametric CAD model , including:

·
definition of the geometric skeleton,

·
creation of parameters and relations (Knowledge Management),

·
design table setup for variant management.

·
Simulation of electric gas stays , including:

·
force–displacement curve interpretation,

·
evaluation of opening/closing comfort,

·
kinematic analysis under different loading conditions,

·
integration with trunk door geometry.

·
Development of an equilibrating law calculation model , including:

·
geometric setup (axes, arms, points),

·
modeling of moments and forces,

·
correlation with gas stay simulation results.

·
Testing and validation across several trunk door configurations.

·
Preparation of a technical report and a final presentation.

The profile we are looking for:

·
Student in years 2–4 (or master’s level) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields.

·
Basic CAD knowledge (preferably CATIA V5/V6).

·
Fluency in English or French.

·
Interest in kinematics, mechanisms, and automotive design.

·
Analytical mindset, curiosity, and attention to detail.

  What we offer?

·
A dedicated mentor who will guide you throughout the program.

·
A flexible schedule adapted to your availability.

·
Internship allowance.

·
Access to our online learning platform for personal and professional development.

·
Networking opportunities and interaction with specialists from various fields.

All applications will be considered regardless of race, nationality, ethnicity, color, language, religion, social origin, genetic traits, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, chronic non-communicable disease, HIV infection, political choice, family status, membership or trade union activity, belonging to a disadvantaged/vulnerable category.
