Department : Security
Location : Chennai, India | Reports To: Head – Security
Role Purpose:
Lead fire prevention, firefighting, and emergency response systems to protect employees, assets, and ensure statutory compliance in an automobile manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, alarms) and ensure readiness
• Lead Emergency Response Team and act as Incident Commander
• Develop and maintain On-Site Emergency Plan
• Conduct fire risk assessments in high-risk areas (paint shop, welding, fuel storage)
• Ensure compliance with Factory Act and Fire Safety regulations
• Coordinate with Fire Authorities and internal teams (EHS, Maintenance)
• Conduct training, drills, and awareness programs
• Maintain inspection logs, audits, and incident reports
• Manage vendors and AMC contracts for fire systems
KPIs:
• Zero major fire incidents
• Emergency response time
• Compliance scores
• Fire system uptime
• Closure of safety gaps
Qualifications & Experience:
• Degree/Diploma in Fire Engineering / Mechanical / Electrical
• 8–15 years in industrial fire safety (Automobile preferred)
• Experience leading emergency response teams
