Skelmersdale Distribution Centre is responsible for fulfilling product distribution and co-packing activities for a significant percentage of the UK business. We take an entrepreneurial approach to growing the business by integrating many different requirements from across the P&G world.
You will join the Operations Department that is responsible for fulfilling UK retail volume to Lidl and Aldi, as well as a variety of other businesses including medicines distribution, electrical returns handling and support for our customisation department. Our team is renowned for working closely together to ensure that all members support each other to deliver outstanding service day in day out – committed to getting the job done right!
YOUR ROLE:
This is an opportunity to be part of a robust and hard working team delivering the base operational business at Skelmersdale DC. You will be responsible for coordinating the inbound work of receiving product into the distribution centre as well as being involved in the execution of this work. This will involve communicating with drivers delivering to site and managing their expectations on timings, handling inbound paperwork to ensure compliance with stewardship standards and co-ordinating the unloaders in the area to ensure correct prioritization of the work. Your role will also cover ensuring that the appropriate systems work is done to handle returns, under and over deliveries, mixed batch receipts and more.
Throughout you will be responsible for ensuring that work in the inbound area is executed safely, with good efficiency and with a constant eye for outages versus the normal standards in terms of quality and stewardship. You will work with your team leader to develop the breadth of your skills to the more complex areas of our business, developing the flexibility to be able to cover the full breadth of operational roles at Skelmersdale.
There is scope to develop extensive systems capability and leadership capability as you continue your progression as part of the P&G ops team.

Qualifications
You are a good fit here if:
· FLT driving qualification and experience – proven ability to operate safely and with efficiency across reach, counterbalance and clamp trucks
· Strong personal accountability to work as part of a team to execute operational work and highlight any risks to service that arise
· Experience working with warehouse management and ERP systems or aptitude to learn these systems
· You have capability with MS Excel as an end user
· You handle conflicting priorities with clarity and calmness under pressure. You’re able to clearly communicate the situation and identify barriers to success and potential actions to resolve
