P&G Gillette has an immediate opening for a PhD level research scientist/engineer in Blades & Materials at the South Boston Innovation Center in Boston, MA. The selected individual will have responsibility for developing next generations of "cutting edge" technologies. P&G"s Blades & Razors business is the world leader with >70% global market share.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop new concepts in novel blade edge hard coatings to meet the requirement for next generations of blades & razors products
Develop prototyping processes and construct blade prototypes
Characterize coatings properties and test performance
Develop the final specifications for new products.
Additional Job Requirements:
Candidates must have strong expertise in thin film deposition technologies (particularly in PVD field such as sputtering)
Strong skills in coating characterization are required (SEM, AFM, XRD, etc.)
Some experience in measuring material and tribological properties is preferred.
Desired profile
PhD in Materials Science, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering.
