Overview of the Job

Perfume creation is an essential element of the product development process at Procter & Gamble!

Developing a successful perfume for a product requires a combination of strong scientific and artistic or creative skills, understanding of our brand equities and consumer needs, as well as mechanistic understanding P&G'S Technologies.

Becoming a successful Perfumer takes years of training and practice. In P&G, we will offer you an internal Training Program that has been built over the years, based on the best technologies in the Industry using internal and external resources. During this program, that usually takes up to 3 years, you will benefit from training rotations as well as mentoring from a Senior or Master Perfumer.

Your Team

Working with the Singapore Flavors & Fragrances team, you will be part of a passionate team of perfumers and technical experts in leading projects across the region and globe.

Job Responsibilities

·  Successful candidate will undergo a comprehensive 1-2 years' P&G perfumery program that includes a detailed understanding of the fundamental science and technology of perfumery and formulation strategies
·  Solve technical challenges typically encountered during creation of fragrance for P&G products
·  Generate and interpret data that will help to develop fragrances, solve problems, and make discoveries and connections against project needs and problem resolution.
·  Apply fragrance development methods to meet project/category needs, leveraging fundamental formulation models and mechanistic understanding
·  Develop cross-functional networking skills for reapplying knowledge (methods, perfume, technology) across categories
Qualifications

·  Trainee Perfumer, Perfumer in Training or an Experienced Perfumer
·  Possess a strong passion for the art and science of perfumery often measured by the predilection for perseverance, persistent scientific approach as well as evidence of aesthetic intuition and perfectionism.
·  Physical Capability - an acute sense of smell. You must pass an odor discrimination test to determine the abilities to discriminate odors and build odor memory. This will be reviewed and/or monitored by a Senior or Master Perfumer.
·  Creativity - Demonstrate exceptional olfactive and creative skills. Possess a strong passion to perform the job. This can be shown through hobbies, outside activities, problem solving techniques, and the ability to think “out of the box”.
·  Strong technical/scientific rigor - Hold a Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in Science or Engineering with a strong aptitude for chemistry or related areas
·  Passion - for a lifelong career in Fragrance Design
·  Relevant experience in the Fabric Care business category and Japanese language competency will be an advantage
