P&G Gillette R&D Precision Engineer Role in Reading, UK

Role is within a leading global FMCG organisation in a business unit with a strong heritage in precision engineering and innovation. The Concept Prototyping Group is responsible for partnering on the development of early stage product prototypes and bespoke scientific research equipment.
We have an exciting role working closely with Design Engineering and Scientist colleagues on varied projects within a portfolio that supports the innovation pipeline for the business.
In the role you will be largely workshop based, where you will execute component and assembly manufacturing ranging from one-offs to small batch sizes. Also you will partner with colleagues to develop ideas and translate design concepts into manufacturable solutions.
In order to do this, you will have the ability to work both with and without drawings, be CAD/CAM literate and have extensive skills on a range of machine tools and diverse machining processes. CNC programming experience is also essential. Ideally experience from a tool making, instrument making or model making background with comprehensive Apprenticeship foundations is desired.
In addition to your practical skills and aptitude, you will also need to have excellent communication skills to build effective working relationships with colleagues around the business. We expect you to be able to work independently to put forward your own ideas and to manage your own design projects.

Salary depending on experience £35-£40k
Qualifications
Machine tool experience, CAD/CAM literacy
