We are a leading company in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) making some of the world’s best loved brands like Gillette, Fairy and Oral. We are looking to hire motivated and high caliber experienced Laboratory analyst to work on a shift pattern at our London (West Thurrock) Site. This type of role will suit the person who is looking for a career and not a job.  We are a build from within company and expect those recruited to want to be developed to move up our pay reward system.

The Lab shift analyst is responsible for performing routine laboratory procedures and measurements for all sectors on Site. This includes sample preparation, chemical, Micro, and physical testing of all materials. The Lab shift analyst is also expected to perform laboratory functions, such as equipment calibrations, and preparation of reagents, etc. whilst maintaining all quality and safety standards.

Job Qualifications

· 
To be considered for this role, you must have the appropriate Chemistry or Microbiology skills, gained either through previous work experience or ideally a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Microbiology.

· 
Good knowledge of Lab and Micro Lab Safety and Good Lab Practice procedures and principles

· 
Disciplined in following and self-learning chemistry/microbiology standards and procedure

· 
Broad knowledge of major wet chemical and instrumental methods as well as techniques

· 
Ability to troubleshoot problems within process, analytical methods, instruments and data systems as well as identify and implement corrective steps

· 
Basic to intermediate level computer skills
